Barcode Question (GS7)

I am going to admit right now that I haven’t used the Barcode feature since a good while back when I attempted to do so but it was so convoluted I couldn’t remember.

So now, I’m doing a bunch of books, and I would really like to use the feature, but it doesn’t seem to work for me. I’m sure am just not doing it right, and when I search the GS help, I get dozens of questions from various versions of GS.

So, here’s what I’m doing. Someone please correct what I’m doing wrong:

I put the code into the BARCODE field as well as the PRODUCT field above it. It seems to do nothing.

So I try this:

I put the code into the PRODUCT INFORMATION field above the ITEM SPECIFICS field just under the main photograph. Still nothing.

I have tried doing both. Nothing.

Please help.

Are you scanning the barcode with your camera. If so, I think it preloads in the correct place.
Steve

I’m thinking you might mean on my phone.

I am not, but if you explain to me how to get it from my phone to my computer, I will gladly try that.

Hi Michelle,

maybe it’s me but for me it’s not clear what the problem is exactly:

In GarageSale you can enter a barcode into the Barcode field in the Options Inspector. What are you expecting to happen?
Can you maybe be more specific?

From the GarageSale Help:
“Barcode: If your item features a UPC, EAN, or ISBN code, provide it here. Otherwise leave the field blank.”

My understanding was that once I put the code in, the PRODUCT INFORMATION field (above the ITEM SPECIFICS field on the left) would populate.

Now, granted, I could be totally confused. But if I am, could you explain just how I populate that field with the massive amount of data that goes there?

Hi Michelle,

I see. No, the barcode field is a separate option.

If you want to add product information from the eBay product catalogue, you have to search for the product in the “Product” popover instead.
