I have some html knowledge but still can’t figure out how to make my own template. Is there a step by step instruction link?

Downloading the latest Design Template Utility is a good start.
You could duplicate an existing listing design and modify it
or
you start creating your very own HTML code and insert the GarageSale placeholders for title, description and images afterwards.
