GarageSale 7.0.4 Beta 3 Released

Dear GarageSale Users,

GarageSale 7.0.4 Beta 3 is available for you to download from this URL (or by using the built-in updater if you are already running an earlier beta version):

https://downloads.iwascoding.com/downloads/GarageSale_7.0.4b3.zip

Normally, we try to avoid shipping beta version for minor fix releases, but version 7.0.4 is taking longer a little longer than anticipated. It contains quite a few bug fixes, that’s why we are releasing a beta version now, so you can benefit from the improvements while we finish up the remaining work.

What’s new in this version

  • quantity-aware auto-relist without linking a listing to an inventory item now works for variation listings, too
  • you can now create an arbitrary number of duplicated listings by holding down the control key when invoking the ‘Duplicate’ command
  • added button for adding buyers to your address book to orders section
  • start date and listing fee of linked listings are now shown in the listing table for inventory items
  • added an ‘Tidy HTML’ command to the context menu of the Editor text mode in the listing section
  • fixed a possible crash on macOS Sierra when overview mode was invoked
  • the ‘Import from My eBay’ panel can now filter for active, sold, unsold, and already imported listings
  • fixed a graphical glitch in the ‘Launch Control’ window that prevented the ‘Verifying’ icon from appearing
  • invoking the ‘Update all listings’ command preserves the selection in the outline view
  • fixed a bug that prevented ended listing from being moved into groups contained in Trash
  • when revising a running listing on eBay, ‘Condition Details’ can be selected as a separate property for revision
  • groups that were opened during a drag and drop operation close after the operation finished
  • fixed a problem with the ‘cost of delivery’ fields currency (eBay Italy only)
  • preview generation no longer stalls when category data download fails because of an invalid eBay token
  • the ‘Add URL Image’ command is now available from Preview mode in the Listings section
  • fixed a bug where some listing settings were not carried over to eBay, when the settings were changed after the ‘Launch Control’ window for the listing had been opened
  • now longer reports an ‘missing image’ error when you are listing with an image from eBay’s product catalog

What’s new in GarageSale 7.0.4

  • the auto-relist feature will re-list with the remaining quantity of the ended listing (see below)
  • local verification of a hundreds of listings should no longer cause hangs
  • original listings can be moved to a specific folder during auto-relist
  • displays an error when the system prevents access to your Address Book
  • search results can be restricted to the selected group
  • drags from iPhoto are now working in editor mode in the listings section
  • you can export multiple listings as separate files by holding down the alt/option key while selecting the “Export Listings” menu item
  • listings are removed from search results when move to trash by choosing “Delete Listings”
  • fixed an issue where selected listing properties where copied to a newly created listing, when preview mode was active
  • items in search result can be duplicated
  • the ‘Launch Control’ window remembers what listing properties you selected for revise or re-list
  • fixed an issue where Re-List without changes was not working correctly
  • more image editing applications should be shown image context menu
  • using an inventory item’s SKU in the variation panel will copy the barcode of that inventory item to the variation
  • added “sort results alphabetically” item to search options menu
  • searches should be a little faster
  • you can enable several events by holding down the option/alt key in the panel for missing scheduler events
  • preview reloads when you change the gallery image
  • fixed a bug with importing orders which contained multiple items bought through auction-style listings
  • when duplicating an item, the auto-restart flag stays enabled

Changes to the Auto-Relist feature

This version changes how the Auto-relist feature works. Up until this version, GarageSale’s Auto-relist feature worked like this:

  • If your listing was linked to an inventory item in GarageSale through the SKU field, a new listing was started only if there was sufficient quantity left in the inventory item (unless you checked the ‘Ignore Inventory Quantity’ checkbox - in that case the listing was always re-listed).
  • If your listing was not linked to an inventory item, the listing was always resisted with the original quantity of the listing.

Starting with GarageSale 7.0.4, the behavior for listings not linked to an inventory item will change like this:

  • If there is any quantity left in the ended listing, GarageSale will re-list that listing with the remaining quantity. If all stock of the original listing sold, no re-list will happen.
  • If your listing is linked to an inventory item, the same logic as in earlier GarageSale versions applies.
  • If you check the “Ignore Inventory quantity” box, GarageSale will re-list with the ended listing´s original quantity.

What’s still missing

  • make the new auto-relist feature work for variation listings
  • updated localization for some of the new features
  • updated manual
  • fixes for yet undiscovered bugs

System Requirements

  • GarageSale 7 requires OS X 10.10 or later

I ran the on-board updater and the ‘About Garage Sale’ shows a version of 7.0 (771)
Is this expected. Do I now have 7.0.4. Beta 3?
Same using the link and downloading-replacing app file.
Don’t see any ‘Add to Address’ button.
Thanks, Steve

You need to be running a beta version to use the in-app updater to update to another beta version.

Otherwise we’d release beta version onto unsuspecting users.

When the zip file expands it is version 7.0
I start with 7.0.3
When I replace with this new file, I have 7.0 again.

Steve

It’s true!! I have just downloaded the new release from the in-app updater since I am using a beta version, but I noticed that something was wrong (for example I did not see any button to add buyers info to contacts), so I checked it again and I can download the same beta version again! It’s like GS did not install it… I hope it does not cause problems  let me know…

It says I am using 7.0 (771), but I was using 7.0.3 beta and I downloaded the beta 4…

Another strange thing, if now I check for new updates from the in-built updater it says that 7.0.3 (775) is available!!! Not .4 …

@Ilja HELP!!! In auto-relist the moving option is disappeared!!! Now I am using 7.0.3 (755) and it says it is the newest version!! Look!!

This link contains version 7.0 , after installing it, I can upgrade to 7.0.3, but I am afraid that this version contains previous bug for auto-relist feature. Like the lack of “moving” option above…

Sorry, I got confused and renamed the wrong zip files, so the original 7.0 version ended up in the 7.0.4 Beta 3 zip archive. That’s now correct. If you download the from the link below now, you’ll get the correct version:

https://downloads.iwascoding.com/downloads/GarageSale_7.0.4b3.zip

My apologies for the confusion I created. Sorry.

No problem, but I was worried that ended listings started to be relistied. I try this and let you know if it works

Yes it seems to work. There is the button to add contact and also moving option returned. Thank you!

Yes, I now have 7.0.4 (3)
Thanks,

@ilja URGENT: With this version “Item Condition” is grayed out so I can not select new, used, etc. It is grayed out and stuck on “Not Supported” for everything. I have tried multiple eBay categories, and it seems the condition is grayed out across the board for everything. I can’t list new items because I can not select the condition when the condition is required! Hopefully we can get a quick fix for it. Thanks!!

Hi etb222,

I just tried it here with GarageSale 7.0.4b3 but couldn’t reproduce the issue.
Maybe it has to do with the eBay Site and/or categories you have selected?

Regards, Kristian

Please let us know a combination of eBay Site (e.g. .com or .co.uk) and category where you are seeing this.

My listings are all eBay.com. It seems to be happening for every single listing, every category i’ve tried including Jewelry and Watches/Fine Jewelry/Fine Rings/Diamond, Cell Phones & Accessories/Cell Phones & Smartphones, and every one one I’ve checked. When I click on the listing the “Condition” box will flash “Downloading…” and then say “Not Supported” and be grayed out so I can’t select anything different.

Hi etb222,

I tried it with both categories and they both work fine here in 7.0.4b.
Does it work to select “update categories” from the sprocket icon in the category popover window?

Regards, Kristian

Mystery solved! I just opened the Console window and found a bunch of these error messages:

9/20/16 11:24:37.125 AM GarageSale[1620]: No feature type in response for category 67726
9/20/16 11:24:37.126 AM GarageSale[1620]: Error for GetCategoryFeatures 67726: Auth token is hard expired, User needs to generate a new token for this application.

I just refreshed the access token for one of my 4 seller accounts (one account name was highlighted in red text in the preferences window) and that solved the problem! The timing of me downloading the new GS version and the token expiring was just a coincidence. Thanks for your help!
