Migrating from GarageSale 6

  • GarageSale 7 has a new application identifier and uses its on database and 'Application Support folders, so you can run it along side GS 6 without side-effects
  • it should import your GS 6 library and your accounts (this process may take a while upon first launch)

How to import your GarageSale 6 library again

Sometimes there a bugs discovered and fixed in the component that migrates your GarageSale 6 library to GarageSale 7’s new formt. If the bug effects you, here is how to run to import process again:

  1. Export any listing you created in GarageSale 7
  2. Quit GarageSale 7
  3. Rename the folder at ‘Library/Containers/com.iwascoding.garagesale7’ in your home directory to something like ‘com.iwascoding.garagesale7-old’
  4. Restart GarageSale (make sure you using beta 8)
  5. Import any listings you imported in step #1

What’s still missing

  • localized user interface for languages other than English
  • a user manual
  • fixes for yet undiscovered bugs

Thanks for using GarageSale,

In “eBay Images” if I select “Use original size” GS7 crashes and closes, otherwise it continues to shut off.

YOU MY FRIEND, lcspanta, ARE A LIFESAVER!!! That seems to have been what has been crashing my garage sale for the past week or so!!!

I’ve lost my mind to find out what was the problem

Sorry, guys. Will be fixed with the next release.

I find out problems as following.

  • INVENTORY tab section : really slow and lag when fast scroll down. it’s not smooth as LISTING tab.
  • INVENTORY : i cannot find sorting for inventory. i think it will be better if we can sort from SKU or TITLE like GS6.
  • PHOTO added on SKU not show on listing. It’s disappeared. It’s still have in SKU but it’s not show on listing linked.
  • SEARCH BAR on listing not show specific title. ex. when i’m type N002 it’s show result too many listing that’s not related with N002.
  • After start auction SKU does not appear on eBay custom label.

FEATURED NEEDS.

  • GarageSale LaunchControl : should remember last sizing and positioning adjustment on screen.
  • It will be better if we have full HTML editors control ex. Find and Replace all HTML text from all listing, HTML code colors.

Can you check if that’s still the case. There’s nothing computational expensive being done while scrolling through the inventory items, so my guess is that GarageSale was busy processing your orders or messages while you were experiencing this.

Noted.

I tried and couldn’t reproduce this. Can you provide step-by-step instructions how you got there or make a small screen cast.

Does this only happen for SKU that contain numbers? Or do all letter-only SKU produce too many search results, too?

This has already been fixed, and will be in the next beta release due later today.

We’ll look into this.

This feature is already on the list. We are not sure, if we can have it ready by the time GS 7 final ships. In that case we’ll add it later.

Thanks for noted. I’m using GS for my HTML design. and it’s really rough when I have to copy > paste > every HTML code from editors apps to GS. Thanks

Yes please, i understand that maybe GS was busy processing.
However i really love the way GS6 inventory that much faster and really smooth. for me I’m using inventory just for quantities and custom label. Can we remove some of useless background process on inventory to make it faster ?

Thank you very much for your hard working and your reply.

I wondering if there’s a way we could get our hands on your inventory data? Did you perhaps import it from a CSV file you could share with us?

SCREEN#1 : You will see photo on inventory SKU : B002. added on GS6.

SCREEN#2 : Back to listing that linked with B002 SKU. Photo not coming up. (actually it’s working on GS6)

SCREEN#3 : Design view also.

  • If you added photo directly on listing from GS6. move to GS7 photo show perfectly.
  • but if you added photo on inventory and using SKU link to listing. Photo on SKU will not coming and show missing photo.

Thank you very much.

Okay, the listing and the inventory item were imported from GS 6. That’s the important bit of information that was missing.
