Select multiple items in the left list after a Search is completed and clicking below the list should un-select all items. It does nothing. In the middle pane, clicking below the list in either icon view or list view works correctly and unselected all items in that list, and so does the image pane in Editor Mode. The left list should allow this also.

Yep. “command-key-click” will unselect a single item.
Clicking below the list (in the white space) should unselect all items.
I tried out a few Apple apps that I suspect to use the same outline view class, and it seems clicks in empty cells in outline view’s are now ignored by default.
