Image Hosting on My FTP Server

I host my images on my server.

My server has a Security Certificate installed.

HTTP Image Path: https://www.my-domain-name.co.uk/garagesale

When I click on ‘Test Settings’, it works fine “https://www.my-domain-name.co.uk/garagesale/FTPTestImage.jpg

All works fine.

However, when I try to upload an auction to eBay, I receive the error "eBay will soon allow only HTTPS resources in listings. We strongly recommend that you revise your content now, to remove any HTTP resources and use HTTPS instead. For more information, please see https://sellercentre.ebay.co.uk/business/browser-security."

As far as I can tell, I AM using HTTPS.

What’s going wrong?

You’re probably use non-https content somewhere else in your listing, e.g. an older design template or an older imge URL inside your description.
Are you already using GarageSale 7.0.9?

We updated GarageSale 7 so it’s compliant to all new eBay policies including their policies regarding HTTPS content.
The default footer, the design templates and image links in GarageSale 7.0.9 and higher are updated and compliant to all eBay policies.

We created an overview page where you find all info regarding the changes and provide you with instructions what might be needed to do to make your active listings compliant to eBay policies.
Please visit the “How to make your listings ready for eBay’s new policies” page here:

If not done already, please also see our latest blog post :

I am using 6.9.8.

I only purchased it a couple of weeks ago!

That is the latest version showing on the Mac App Store.

How comes you’re selling out of date software through the Mac App Store.

We still need to leave GarageSale 6 in the Mac App Store otherwise existing customers would no longer be able to re-download it form there.

Contact Apple for a refund on your GarageSale 6 purchase (there should be a link in Apple’s receipt mail). Unfortunately we cannot do this, because Apple doesn’t share transaction data with us.

Then, purchase GS 7 directly from us. This should be cheaper than buying GS 6 from Apple plus the upgrade fee.

I bought this on 2nd October 2017, and it looks as though you can only get a refund up to two weeks after you purchased it.

It therefore looks as though I’ve bought a bit of software that is out of date and 4 weeks later, I need to buy it again!

Can you please help?

I am sorry to hear but there’s nothing we can do here. Only Apple can initiate a refund as we have no means to access their system.
It’s worth a try to contact the Apple support once again: https://reportaproblem.apple.com/

Regards, Kristian

Have just heard back from them, and there’s nothing they can do as it was purchased over 14 days ago.

Great.

Please can you issue me with a complimentary serial number for your end please.

Regards

Soon to be disgruntled customer.

I am sorry to hear. Sorry, we we have no means to access Apple’s system so there’s nothing we can do here.
At least, even as a buyer from the GarageSale version from the MAS, GarageSale 7 should offer you the upgrade option. (Select “Buy License…” from the “GarageSale” menu in GarageSale 7.)

Regards, Kristian

And of course there’s nothing you’re willing to do to help.

Great

Seriously though. Do you not think it a little unreasonable for you to sell software only for it to be out of date in four weeks time and then a client has to upgrade.

The least you could do is let me have a complimentary serial number from your end.

Am very disappointed and will voice my dissatisfaction across social media.

Hi,

the issue here is, that Apple will not give us any information about “their” customers who bought “our” software. So we can not prove that you actually purchased GarageSale via the AppStore.

But there is a way we can prove that on your Mac. Please purchase the upgrade and send me a private message here or an email through our regular support email address. Then you will get a refund of the upgrade price.

Thanks,
Paul

Thanks.

I see no option on the Mac App Store for upgrading. likewise, I see no in-app option to upgrade.

Where do I upgrade from?

Bump

Want to upgrade, but am unsure how to go about it and get the refund of the upgrade price.

Hi,

you have to have the (old) AppStore version installed on your Mac. Then download GarageSale 7 from our website. There should be an upgrade version purchasable from the build in store.

If you still can’t figure out how to purchase the upgrade, please contact our support directly.

Thanks,
Paul

Have purchased the upgrade

We just initiated the refund!

Regards, Kristian

Thanks for helping out with this.

What seemed like a nightmare at the time turned into something quite reasonable.
