OS 10.8 with GarageSale Version 6.9.8 (634) New http help please

Hi,

I am running mac os 10.8 with garagesale Version 6.9.8 (634) and need help changing my listings for the new https, without upgrading os and gs.

I don’t use any active links or video etc in my listings.

The only thing i use is the store design ‘cold blue’

When removing the store design

eBay tells me on a auction the problem is this:

I would still like to use the store designs aswell though, is update the only option?

I only have about 430 listings and i don’t mind editing them manually if i have to.

Hi Ashton,

It’s highly recommended to upgrade to GarageSale 7. GarageSale 6 is too old and does not support the numerous eBay changes.
GarageSale 7 still supports older OSX versions like Mac OS X 10.10 or higher but if you still use an older system you might want to consider to upgrade your hardware.
In GarageSale 7.0.9 and higher the default footer, the design templates and image links are compliant to all eBay policies.

The only thing you can try in GS6 is to uncheck the “Design” checkbox in GarageSale’s Editor mode and to disable the footer in the GarageSale preferences > Advanced. However, there’s no guarantee that this will produce 100% eBay compliant listings.

Then I’m going to download the new os Sierra

Then I will upgrade to the new GarageSale 7

Could you please link me steps on how to go from my version of garage sale to the new version please?

Simply download and install GarageSale 7. GarageSale 7 can import your GS 6 library and your accounts upon first launch (this process may take a while) so you won’t lose any work.

If you use a design from the Design Store, yes, please update it as instructed.

That depends. You only need to run the “Repair Image Links” command if you actually have inserted image links in your item description or if it’s a listing “imported from My eBay”.
However, using this command has no disadvantages.

I am not sure if I understood correctly. Just check the the steps described on that help page and you should be fine
GarageSale will take care of the image links (URLs) onc you start/revise the listing if that is your concern.

One of your posts on the http and https protocol discussions you mentioned we need to download a new copy of our custom purchased designs. How is that done? I tried a copy of GS built in and the HTTP issue goes away.

I am running 7.0.8(811). I kept messing around with different stuff until I found the update link for all the listing designs and I was required to put in my long invoice code from when I bought GS and the updates on the designs ran and that has fixed the problem. Now I have to manually go in and update 1,200 listings. In 3 hours I did 400 so it is very time consuming. I have to check each listing for quantity on hand since some have sold few of the items and some are single sale listings. The bulk update feature I found in your recommendations to others seems to be no help in this. When an item sells, why doesn’t GS update the quantity available in the original listing? I get burnt sometimes if I am not diligent in watching the quantity when doing a listing change and it is changed back to what I originally had on head when I created the listing and not what I currently have on hand after some sales have occured.
