Just an FYI, when I opened 9.9.4 and clicked “update” it appeared to do the typical download thing, then this popped up on the screen:
However, I went to the other post in this thread, used the link, downloaded the dmg file, and installed it without any issues. Just FYI - thank you!
It appears I’m correctly running 9.9.5 now (Mac OS Tahoe 26.2 iMac M1)

I just tried it here and was able to update from GarageSale 9.9.4 to 9.9.5 without any issues. That’s why I assume and hope that it was just local or temporary issue.
Do you remember at what step exactly that “(null)” message appears? Also, is there maybe anything non-standard about your internet connection?
Upon opening 9.9.4 the popup advising of the upgrade was there. I selected the “update now” option. It seems pretty “normal” I didn’t recall anything out of the ordinary. I was actually sitting in front of the comp, and seems like everything like internet connection, etc is status quo. Then when the status bar said complete, I heard the bump noise (like error) and that null window popped up in the middle.
I went over to the info Garage Sale > About Garage Sale pull down and there was a question mark - or maybe it was the (i) there. I wanted to check if the upgrade took effect, but nothing happened when I hovered or clicked on that.
What I did next was close down the app (Seemed like the typical thing to relaunch, I was thinking maybe something needed to take effect). I launched GS from the dock and that’s when it told me 9.9.4 had been moved to the trash. Right, because the 9.9.4 was replaced on install this would be the correct thing to be informed off.
I went over to the app folder and there was no other version there (so the 9.9.5 didn’t install).
I grabbed 9.9.4 from the trash, moved it back into the app folder to be able to open it (and make sure everything looked like it was still there. It was, lol).
Since it didn’t prompt me to update from the app, I came onto this thread to grab the update link. Downloaded it. When I opened that it asked if I wanted to replace 9.9.4 by dragging into the folder. Just to be sure I added 9.9.4 onto the existing file name. Downloaded 9.9.5. Launched that, all my files are there like the should be : )
And if I check the info the little window pops up advising it’s correctly 9.9.5.
Was just a bit weird so I just wanted to make mention of it.
