AI Generator selected from the toolbar

Just wondering…

  1. If there is any reason that the AI Generator can only be used with an item that has not been listed?
  2. If there is anyway to add the generated text to the listing beside copy/paste? Currently selecting ’ Apply generated text’ will overwrite the current listing text

I have very similar questions. Working with the AI as it is now is so frustrating, I’m currently sketching a helper app/script which will follow my own titling and markdown structure guidelines, and actually pay attention to the correct/minimal Attributes I set in standard listing templates. The AI toolbar info isn’t useful unless it can avoid making simple structural problems. Luckily, GarageSale is very scriptable, so there’s potential to make it work that way. The few times I’ve tried the GS built-in AI, it’s provided Attributes that aren’t even the ones from the category of the item shown in the picture, leaving the required ones blank.

I have found that Google Images provides a better explanation of the listed item but I recognise that this may be a a work in progress’.

It would be helpful if AI made suggestions or additional text and not totally overwrite the whole listing when the description is left checked off. I use GROK and get similar results as far as the flowery text with a bunch of filler words.

Also GROK will write titles and descriptions after some training to get the word order, sequence, and proper terms to use.

At this point, I find I getter more accurate information from google images. But, that might change as AI keeps learning.

I’ve started preliminary Plan Mode on an app to help me dictate the core information needed to populate one of my listings, and the scheme seems to be that I’ll select a listing that contains pictures in GS, trigger my app, it’ll use AppleScript to glance at the selected listing (including its category) and then prompt me for each of the very stylized text snippets I include and the necessary attributes, and then fill in the data in GS when approved. Will see how well that goes. I can’t afford to have pictures-only commodity stuff from the eBay catalog in my descriptions. There are too many collectors among my customers, and almost no impulse buyers, and the AI titles and summaries are insufficient.

Interestingly, one of the most productive tracks for my app plan seems to be “read all my recent inventory’s descriptions and settings and build a corpus to imitate my current habits”.
