Updated Ebay Categories
New Token updated

Best Offer unavailable on certain categories.
Available on Collectables>Tools>Axes, Hatchets, but unavailable on Collectables>Tools> Vices & Clamps. Very erratic behavious, works on some categories, but not on others.
Sometimes works when i click on a previous generated listing, then click back on the listing im working on. Never expeirenced this before.

I restart my computer, and it magically works again.

This is the sort of thing that seems to happen when eBay’s category information has gotten stale; it also sometimes affects “Condition” and other fields. Instead of restarting the computer (and GarageSale), a direct solution may be to select any listing, select its category (right Options column), and select the gear icon in the top of the Category pane. Under that menu, at the bottom you will find “Update Categories”. Select that, and I think it will fix the out-of-date eBay category tree.

This seems to happen suddenly every few weekends for me, because the things I sell sometimes have and sometimes do not have “Condition” as a field, and eBay changes trigger the same sort of behavior you report for “Best Offer” (which you will note appears under the “supports” fields in the category listings, as in the example below).

Yes I’ve done that as well. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn’t. It’s a very unstable release at the moment. I’ve been using Garagesale for over 10 years and never had a problem like this so frequently. .

If not done already, you might want to give GarageSale 10 a try. It uses a newer eBay API for downloading certain eBay category attributes.
More details and a download link can be found in our latest blog post:

It also happens quite frequently for me, and the Editor view preview rendering takes ages or does n ot render at all and is stuck on the loading view unless i switch to Outline view and back.

The Best Offer settings of an existing listing are also often not loaded correctly unless another listing is selected and then the original one.

Does it maybe already help if you just re-select the category in the category browser?

If not, it might help to update the eBay category data manually:

  1. Refresh the eBay access token in the GarageSale preferences > Accounts.

  2. Select one of the listings in question and open the category browser. In that browser click on the big sprocket icon to update the category data.

  3. In your listing re-select the category.

Switching to GarageSale 10 should work also:
