Cannot scan bar code in shipping tracking field

since I upgraded to GS 9, I can no more scan the registered mail bar code into the shipping tracking code field in the order section (right side column). I use a standard bar code reader, it worked fine until I used GS 8. I can scan the bar code into “private comment”, copy and then paste into the shipping tracking field, but it makes not much sense. Maybe it has to do with the “enter” at the end of the code (I mean, if you scan bar code, the code is followed by a new line). Anyway it worked fine with GS 8.
