Hi everyone again,
i’m trying to import Inventory Item from CSV file, but GS doesn’t recognize the file, saying always that it is not a UTF-8 encoded file, but actually it is.
Can anybody help me?
Many thanks from Sicily
Alberto
Hi Alberto,
are you really sure that your CSV file meets all the requirements? Please see the help here (scroll down to “CSV Import”):
https://manual.iwascoding.com/gs7/en/Inventory_Section-Creating_New_Inventory_Items.html
If this won’t help, feel free to post one of your CSV file here or send it to the GarageSale support.
Regards, Kristian
Inventory.zip (224.3 KB)
Thank you for your kind reply.
Here it is the file. It seems the message has changed: now it says that it was not possible to import all the lists, but actually it imported none of them
Hi Alberto,
thank you for sending the file.
I tried to import it here in GarageSale 7 an got that “UTF-8” error, too.
However, after opening the file in Numbers and exporting it to CSV (UTF-8) the import in GarageSale took some minutes but finally worked like a charm. (9217 items imported)
Regards, Kristian
You’re right! I used openoffice and it worked thank you very much.
Maybe in this case excel was not very good
