Endicia/Stamps.com Merge

The ease of Endicia for Mac is now gone it appears. Endicia and Stamps.com merged into one company. When you got to Endicia.com, it auto redirects to Stamps.com. I was forced to change my password. I can get on Stamps.com fine but now I can no longer print labels through GS because it cannot log into Endicia for Mac. There is an authentication error.

This has halted my eBay sales and nobody seems to know how to fix it.

Anyone else have this issue? I’m on Sequoia but I don’t see why that would matter.

Does GS need to patch this up?

Personally, I do not enter any package sizes for 99.99% of items.

Most items are shipped via USPS, and are less than one cubic foot so they are not subject to dimensional rates, and do not exceed one of the length surcharges. I charge the retail rate and pay the lower commercial rate, with the difference paying for FVF on shipping. I only enter the weight.

I only enter the dimensions for USPS packages that exceed a cubic foot or packages that exceed a length surcharge threshold.

I also enter dimensions for the rare package, usually very large, going UPS Ground. Since UPS Ground commercial rates can be as much as 70% less than retail I charge customers the commercial rate. I calculate the highest possible commercial rate and increase the price of the item by 17% of this amount to account for FVF on shipping.

Some larger packages, especially Hawaii and Alaska, will be cheaper via the USPS Ground Advantage commercial rate, but since eBay started preventing sellers from listing items with USPS retail and commercial rates in July of 2023 I need to charge a flat rate on those consisting of the highest possible commercial rate + 17% to cover FVF on the shipping.

When rates go up I do not have to to make any changes to 99.99% of items as calculated shipping is used. Items that require adjustments when rates go up, such as flat rate or UPS Ground are placed in special folders so adjustments can be made for all such items at once.

I only have to enter the package dimensions once for 99.99% of item and that is when I import the orders on PirateShip.

Perhaps PirateShip could add a integration for GS to offer anything missing from its regular method of eBay order importation?

I only use eBay labels for a rare item on which I need to purchase additional insurance from the carrier as PirateShip only allows you to purchase additional insurance from its private insurance carrier which I do not trust.

My password has stayed the same. They did remove both Amazon and eBay from being able to accessed from Mac Endicia. I’ve spoken to the Mac developer about this and his hands are tied as it is a Stamps executive directive. I think they will eventually force us to use the horrible website instead of the amazing Mac app. I’ve been using the app since 2008 and have it quite customized for my marketplaces. Not being able to be connected to eBay and Amazon really hurt this past season. If you still have yours connected, know that when that expires, you will not be able to renew it, and you’ll have to copy and paste or do an import.

It is sad to see it go. The web stores feature could have easily been upgraded to work with Shopify, Etsy, etc. The developer is very, very responsive and has maintained [and uses] the app since prior to 2008.

If you are talking about the Web Store feature not being able to be logged into - that’s what I meant above - the connection to other sites has been removed; it lasts one year and normally you can renew it, but they took that feature away in July 2025. So for the lucky people who renewed their authentication in July 2025, they have another few months before Endicia stops working with eBay.

I do not know how GS can talk to Endicia for Mac directly though.

omg….I just found the “Ship with Endicia” menu item. WOW! I never knew it existed. It still works for me, but I did not need to change my Endicia password. My goodness this feature is amazing. It does need to paste the phone number into the phone field. And the Reference number is incorrect [it should be the seller order ID - any chance of these fields being able to be customized, GS devs?

Man, I wish I knew about this feature this past holiday season!

jfs? What does that have to do with this topic?

I have this user blocked for many reasons, but when I didn’t, their reply often looked like AI chat slop.

As far as your login goes - can you access Endicia for Mac at all? Or is it not letting you? The account info icon, and “refresh” - does that help? If you want, I can share the developer’s e.mail address with you - DM me and I’d be happy to, in case this is an issue with Endicia and not GS.

No and that was the problem. Because of the merge, I could not get into the app to change the password. I tried for hours to manually change the password in the keychain but Apple would not allow it and Stamps.com would not allow me to change the password back. I was hoping GS people would know a way to get in there but they don’t. I was just hoping. Unfortunately, I had to call Endicia support and had to let an employee at the Indian call center full access to my computer. She had to go deeper into the computer coding that I cannot to get the app to open it so I can change my password. I do not like giving the overseas call center full access to my computer, which is why I posted here. I guess I am the first to encounter the problem. I am computer literate for only a couple of layers. This problem was just something that was deeper into the computer than I can go. I took pictures of everything she did and can probably recreate it but I don’t think I would. If I made a mistake at that level, God knows what damage I would create! When Stamps.com makes you change your password, you will have the same problem with only the one solution. Thanks for your reply.

What caused you to change your password? Endicia and Stamps have been merged for a couple of years now, so I am curious as to what triggered the password change. From my password manager records, it looks like I last changed mine just over a year ago. From the Postage menu, there’s a “Change Pass Phrase” option plus the “Account Setup” option which allows you to change accounts [I have done that before when I was helping a friend out with their business while they were ill - that gave me the option to sign in as them, buying postage using their info, etc].

I have a very slow internet connection so remoting into my Mac is not possible [it’s near dial up speed], but yeah, I wouldn’t allow a remote connection even if my ISP was able to fix my connection. That must have been very stressful. :frowning:

There’s still 10s of thousands of us using Mac Endicia, so do know you’re not alone in using the app!

“JFS” is the user named “WOOD” that was previously blocked. This post was copy pasted from another post. Usually everything boils down to “ ebay is terrible, they lie, they are stealing postage, they are overcharging fees. All predictable stuff.
