Something just changed my ability to revise listings on ebay. It appears to have “corrupted” my templets after I globally changed the attributes. Now when I go to revise my listing Garagesale reports an error about the tax rate. But I do not collect sales tax and have never entered any data for tax. This is all taken care of by ebay here in the USA. Screenshot of the error below:
Now I can’t get this error to go away. I went to the advanced tab to check and see if sales tax fields changed and they did not. Screen shot of tax fields below:
Again, I feel like the error occured immediately after I selected 10 or so listings, then clicked attributes and globally changed one field. Then I clicked revise listings and the errors now post even if I revise a single listing. However, I checked other listings that I did not globally modify the attributes and they seem to revise fine. I will update if I have other errors, but at this moment I have 10 or so listings that I can now not revise because of this “tax” error.
It appears that while these templets are corrupt and prevent me for revising, I am able to start a new listing using the same templet and all is fine. I guess if I need to modify the listing, I’ll need to stop (end) my original listing and start a new one with the changes. Its not a huge problem for me but now I’m going to be nervous about globally modifying attributes (if this was the cause).
If anyone else has experienced a similar issue, I’d like to hear about it and what solution if any you have used to correct the templet.
Hello, I am having a similar issue. I get the same error. I was going through an modifying the prices on several of my items. I changed the prices on around 20 items today and I clicked “Revise Listing”. Some were in bulk, some were individual changes and relistings. I messed up on one, went back about 3 hours later to fix, and I started getting the error message.
I can now see that all of the 20 items that I changed the pricing on earlier today now give me the same “Error in tax state” message and won’t relist.
I wonder if it has something to do with the latest version of Garagesale which I just updated. I don’t know if it has something to do with it or not. It does seem for me that globally changing the attributes is what prompted the error. I’m hesitant to experiment with other listings to confirm it, but I might do that if it would help the team at Garagesale troubleshoot this if its a “software bug”.
I actually haven’t updated my GarageSale version in months, so that is definitely not my issue.
It’s really weird, because I had just relisted another item less than 5 minutes before this started happening. And now I can’t even relist that item without the error. It’s almost like someone flipped a switch or changed something on eBay.
