Add Smart Group item to select by Shipping method to select items only that use a specific shipping method, i.e. DHL or Deutsche Post so they can be changed all at once.
“Shipping method” “is/is not” “[Parcel/Signed for/etc.]”
thanks guys

Are you referring to Order or to Listing mode?
Also, do you actually want to filter by shipping method (e.g. DHL Paket, DHL Päckchen) or only by carrier (e.g. DHL, Deutsche Post, DPD, Hermes,…)
Referring to Listing mode, and in particular to select by shipping method - the reason being that i have tons of items shipped via Deutsche Post Brief since ebay started offering Seller protection for items sold for less than 20EUR if you buy postage via ebay, but nearly half of these shipments aren’t even getting scanned by Deutsche Post and it’s an attractive target for scammers who gamble on delivery without getting scanned and then openiing “item not received” cases.
Loss in the past 90 days has been about 7%(!), while official figures from Deutsche Post say less than 1% of letters get lost. Obviously this is being abused.
I want to select all my “Deutsche Post Brief” items and convert them into “Deutsche Post Einschreiben”, which will be priced into the sale price while offering free shipping.
AFAICS selecting by Carrier doesnt make much sense yet in the Listing mode @kristian right?
About selecting by carrier, it would potentially be useful if carrier and the shipping methods associated with that carrier could be selected in separate fields, i.e. one field for “Hermes,DHL,whatever” and then “DHL Päckchen, DHL Paket 2kg, DHL Paket 5kg, etc”
this could potentially be helpful since in the package details section weight and dimensions can already be entered, and an auto-suggestion of a fitting shipping service like “Hermes Paket S” (logic being “if weight below 25kg and longest+shortest outer dimension below 50cm”) could be made, or is this too advanced?
I See, thank you for clarifying.
If I am not mistaken the “Shipping Service” shown in an order can’t be changed.
Could it be that you instead refer to Listing mode? Only there you can change the shipping service of your listings, that’s why I am asking.
yes, that is exactly what i mean. sorry, it’s a bit early for me still ![]()
basically in the shipping flyout window, under Shipping, add a new column with a dropdown box with the respective carrier name only (DHL,DPD,Hermes), then a second column with a dropdown containing the respective shipping options offered by this carrier, potentially with an entry pre-selected if package dimensions and weight are already entered in the “Package Details” flyout window.
I think this kind of granularity would make it easier to auto-assign the best shipping service.
It might be possible to create a script that lists all your listings that use “Deutsche Post Brief”.
Would that be already helpful?
that’s entirely possible but i have no experience whatsoever with scripts.
Even so, i still think it would be really nice and a good idea in the future to have this kind of granularity and auto-select capability for shipping services offered by the respective carrier built right into GS.
For now you might find the script below helpful. It searches all your listings and then shows a list of all listings that use the given shipping service (“Deutsche Post Brief”).
// This scripts returns all listings that use the given shipping service.
function run() {
const shippingServiceToBeFound = "Deutsche Post Brief";
const foundListings = allListings.filter(function(listing) {
const services =
listing.shippingOptions &&
listing.shippingOptions.domesticServices;
if (!services) {
return false;
}
return services.some(function(service) {
return service.serviceName === shippingServiceToBeFound;
});
});
showListings(
foundListings,
foundListings.length + " Listings with shipping service " + shippingServiceToBeFound + ":"
);
}
To use this script open GarageSale’s script editor (select Show Script Editor Window from GarageSale’s Windows menu). In script editor click the + button and then just paste the script. If done, click the “Run” button in script editor.
