Feature Request: Import eBay Drafts

I brought this up back in October, Import drafts from ebay into GS? - mainly just asking the question, but I am curious if this is something that could maybe/possibly/hopefully [?] be a feature down the road? Having GS be able to import a draft one creates on the website.

It is not a common thing for me, but sometimes it can be helpful because an item of mine is not in the eBay catalog, and somewhere else someone has created a very nice listing with lots of attributes filled in, etc. So in those cases doing a “sell similar” is quite nice. All kinds of fields are auto-populated and boom, listing is set. But of course it’s not inside my usual GS template/design, nor using my WebDAV server for hosting the larger images, etc. Being able to pull in a draft and apply my design, etc, would be great.

I do realize the workaround - using the eBay website to publish it, then import it into GS, and pasting listing components into the listing to apply the design/template, then do a full revise. So it probably is low on the list unless there is a new API that easily allows fetching the draft into a 3rd party app.

If I recall correctly, eBay’s API doesn’t offer a way to import drafts, unfortunately.

A question regarding eBay’s “Sell Similar” feature because I actually have never used it:
“Only” title, item specifics, and category are imported but images and item description are not, did I get this correctly?

If I understand what you are trying to do correctly…

Another work around is to schedule the listing (on eBay) to go live in the future, import to GS, then make your updates. You should then be able to either revise or end sell similar the scheduled listing. This had worked for me in the past but I’m no longer doing it.

Correct. Just below the image, when viewing a listing, there’s text, “Have one to sell? Sell now.” which will use the ebay listing interface and auto-populate the title, listing category, and attributes. One still has to add their own photos and description.

A recent, and horrible, IMO, change to the eBay website has made me do this quite frequently for an odd reason. Here in the US, there are no longer breadcrumbs at the top of a listing, showing the category of an item. If I am listing something - that to me is new - I am unsure what eBay category to put it into. eBay has moved those breadcrumbs to the bottom of the page, but scrolling to the bottom of a page can take several seconds or minutes because the page continues to load more related/sponsored results. So using the “sell now” feature gives me the ability to quickly see what category the item I am viewing is listed in.
