Changes to the Auto-Relist feature

This version changes how the Auto-relist feature works. Up until this version, GarageSale’s Auto-relist feature worked like this:

  • If your listing was linked to an inventory item in GarageSale through the SKU field, a new listing was started only if there was sufficient quantity left in the inventory item (unless you checked the ‘Ignore Inventory Quantity’ checkbox - in that case the listing was always re-listed).
  • If your listing was not linked to an inventory item, the listing was always resisted with the original quantity of the listing.

Starting with GarageSale 7.0.4, the behavior for listings not linked to an inventory item will change like this:

  • If there is any quantity left in the ended listing, GarageSale will re-list that listing with the remaining quantity. If all stock of the original listing sold, no re-list will happen.
  • If your listing is linked to an inventory item, the same logic as in earlier GarageSale versions applies.
  • If you check the “Ignore Inventory quantity” box, GarageSale will re-list with the ended listing´s original quantity.

System Requirements

  • GarageSale 7 requires OS X 10.10 or later

@ilja I have a stupid question but I suppose I am not the only one in this situation. Since beta versions I collected many different GSs in my download and application folders. Using and upgrading one or another one of these is indifferent? Or how can I recognize the original one (if there is an “original” application)?

I upgraded to 7.0.4 and now the images do not show up in the INVENTORY window. Even if I add and image to an inventory item it does not show up on the right-hand side of the screen like it used to.

Everything works fine here. However, which version of Mac OS X / macOS do you have installed?

Does it happen with all image files or just a certain one?

Regards, Kristian

In the Finder, choose “Get Information” for any of the GaragSale applications you have on your Mac. If the version field in the “Get Info” panel doesn’t say “7.0.4”, throw it into the Trash.

Fine!! Thank you

Was there anything logged to the Console application (under Applications/Utilities) from GarageSale around the time you noticed the images were missing?

I don’t see anything. The first time I noticed this was the first time I ran Garagesale after upgrading to 7.0.4. I am still using OS 10.11.6 El Capitan.

This is true for all of my inventory items. the images are not showing for any of them. the images do show in the listing for that item.

Sounds like this might be a display issue in the inventory section. If you select an inventory item, which is supposed to have images, and click on the image area, do you get a blue highlighted rectangle? Does right-clicking in the image area work?

Also, if you go to a listing linked to that item and switch from Preview to Editor mode, do you see the images there?

The area where the images are supposed to be is gone. The plus and minus signs and icon to add a caption are there. There is no image area to right-click on.
If I go to the linked listing and go to edit mode all I see is HTML. No images. I do see images in the preview mode.

Can you post a screenshot of how the inventory section looks at your Mac?

Maybe you just have to enlarge the size of the upper field with the inventory settings?:

Can you grab the thin grey line (the one with the centered dot, right above the “Listings linked with…” table) and move it to the bottom?

Regards, Kristian

Oh good gravy!! that did it. thank you so much.

By the way, I love version 7. It is a big change from 6 but a wonderful improvement in my opinion. Thank you for it.
