GarageSale won't load at all!

Hi all!

My GarageSale has stopped responding and as a few days ago will not even load. I have tried using Control when booting to try and repair or debug but the progress bar does not proceed (or even start) and then says this:

The operation couldn’t be completed. IO error: lock /Users/chuck/Library/Containers/com.iwascoding.garagesale9/Data/Library/Application Support/GarageSale/GarageSale.leveldb/LOCK: already held by process

Anyone can shed any light on this? Thanks

I am sorry to hear. Did you experience a system crash recently? What version of macOS are you using?

It might be that your GarageSale database got corrupted. Please check if you are using the latest version of GarageSale (version 9.9.5) and macOS. Try to start GarageSale again after a restart of your Mac.

Hi kristian,

I think there may have been a crash recently but not sure whether it stoped at the same time as had not noticed. I am running GarageSale 9.9.5 and Sequoia 15.7.7 (24G720). Restarted but still doing the same…

Thanks for your help!

You already tried the “Auto-repair corrupt database” command from the Debug Options panel, right?

Do you have a backup? (Time Machine, CCC,…)
Giving the beta version of the upcoming GarageSale 10 is worth a try, also. (I don’t have much hope, though)

Have you tried restarting your Mac? Sounds like a “zombie” GarageSale process is still running on your Mac and holding a lock on the GarageSale database.
