Group/Folder Listing Schedule possible issue with post-processing?

I don’t think I can consider this a “bug” unless it happens again, and I’m not 100% certain I didn’t cause the problem myself. That said, it is concerning since I’ve seen it pop up a couple of times.

I am trying out creating “Scheduler Group” folders again, and I’ve got a few now to help me evenly distribute launched new listings across various weekday evenings, when I’m not working normally.

The image below is not a capture of the “bug”, but is just there to help other users understand I’m not talking about the 73 other ways to schedule listings in GarageSale

Anyway, the issue I noticed just now (it is morning, well before any have fired) is that the Move launched listings to group: dropdown was not set correctly. I manually set this one up to point to my RUNNING folder, as is shown. But some time (days?) after making a handful of them, when I opened the scheduler views of each folder to check, the Move was still checked but the folder to move things into was incorrect. In two cases, it was blank, and in two other cases, it was set to a UUID (which might have been correct, or not; I am not privy to the info).

I’m bringing it up because I don’t know if it’s a symptom of disrupted preferences, or if to be fair I just duplicated a folder with a schedule attached and forgot to change it?

Obviously I’ll keep an eye on it, since I haven’t yet had any of these fire and am anxious to see how they work this evening.

AHA literally just after posting this I realized I should try an experiment to narrow down the problem, and it immediately showed up:

  1. create a group
  2. add a launch schedule to it (with the right-click menu)
  3. add “Move to” in the schedule
  4. rename the group itself, the one that has the schedule attached

The “Move to” now points to an incorrect group.

Quick question about the scheduled listings in a folder: What is the launch order? Is it the sort order of the folder, or arbitrary, or the order in which they’re added to the folder, or… ?

In general the scheduler launches listings in the order they appear in the folder, i.e. the order you see in the sidebar.

One caveat: before launching, GarageSale validates each listing with eBay, and listings are queued for launch as soon as their validation completes. So if eBay takes noticeably longer to verify one listing, it can end up a bit later in the sequence than its position in the folder. In practice the order normally matches the folder order.
