GS 8.1 not auto-updating new categories, again, again

Continuing the discussion from GS 8.1 not auto-updating new categories :

This just happened again…

Exactly the same behavior. Category says “Unknown”. Manually Selecting “Update Categories” downloads new categories, but does not automatically “update” the current listing template. Then I just need to select a different listing template, and select back and all is good.

Any way I can find the “current” dowloaded category version #??? Before the manual update and then after??? This would tell me if a newer version of the category data was actually loaded.

This is an odd one Neal. I see many of my listings like this but it does not seem to prevent Ebay accepting the listing with the correct category. (I know this does not necessarily help you).
