Item title gets greyed out when in LIVE mode and prevents using the down arrow on the keyboard. This is a new behavior that started in the last month. I checked and GS 9.92, 9.9.4 and 9.95b1 all do it
I just tried Live mode here but doesn’t happen to me.
Maybe something on the eBay website triggers the focus loss. What exactly are you doing with your mouse cursor when the selected listing loses focus? Is there anything on the eBay website that catches focus? Is there a cookie message from eBay at the bottom of the screen?
I was trying to turn off the screen capture with my mouse. It blinks after a second and goes grey. I thought it was an ad but the progress bubble is still loading the page. I cant tell you about a cookie message, nothing I can see at the bottom of the page
I happens when the “BUY it now” button on ebay turns dark blue. It loads as light blue then turns dark blue and that is when the line goes grey. AND the category line is updated to the final category string.
FYI, I did a quick test of this on GS 9.9.2 and I can see when the buy it now button goes darker. For me, the focus is not taken away from the selected item. The arrow keys continue to work allowing me to move up and down in a list of live listings.
I guess it is my old 2015 computer running OS 12.7.6
What version of Safari do you run? I’m on 18.4 [macOS 14.7.5]. Safari can be updated outside of the OS in many cases.
The App Store doesn’t list an update for safari. I understand it to be built in to the OS
Safari is not part of the App Store. It is part of the system preferences software update. It can be updated separately. Eg:

EDIT: looking at the link it shows 2 downloads - one for macOS 26 and the other for macOS 15, but there are older versions somewhere for older macOS versions. I’ve gotta head to the Post Office, but I would check your software update section of system preferences first to see if there’s a Safari update available.
The Release notes say 17.6 is the latest update for Monterey

The item title turning grey in LIVE mode and blocking the down-arrow navigation definitely looks like a new UI regression. Since it occurs in 9.92, 9.9.4, and 9.95b1, it’s likely not version-specific but tied to a recent change in the LIVE mode handling.
A quick fix isn’t available yet, but the issue can be reproduced consistently, so it should be easy for the devs to track and patch.
