I have a new functionality request. Is it possible to exclude any running listings from the trash and the possibility of accidental deletion? Some times when working on listings I accidentally move a running listing to the trash. If it is possible, can there be a way to protect these from deletion when emptying the trash? I would like GS to keep all running listings in the database. Thanks for considering this request.
I have a related problem this might help with: Now and then, when I stop and re-start listings manually in GarageSale, I will either (1) accidentally not have stopped the listing I thought I did, or (2) I will accidentally discard the new one and leave the old one sitting in my main folders.
As a result, a listing I thought was cancelled and re-launched manually is actually still running, and sitting in my Trash.
I think your suggestion, even of a “are you sure?” dialog, would be helpful for me to at least notice when I’ve made this mistake.
I have accidentally deleted a whole folder full of running and completed listings only to be discovered many months later when looking for a specific listing in a category only to discover the whole folder missing. I assume I accidentally deleted it when emptying the trash. My fault but now I have to keep going through trash items to be sure nothing is running or losing a whole folder of listings. I seldom or NEVER want to delete a whole folder
I don’t empty trash often, but when I do it, I simply select the trash folder and change the “show status” from the top bar from “all listings” to “active”. This way, in 1 second you can check if there is any active listing in the trash. You just have to do it 1 time before emptying the trash.
I found it in the dropdown menu Thanks
I agree.
Yep. Me too!
Yes. Happens to me too.
Yep. Me too.
Maybe even a Smart Group rule: Is/Is Not in Deleted Listings/Trash group folder
Then I could setup an open Smart Group to look for all active/running listings in the Trash.
