No option to specify item condition as "Used."

Hi, for the past couple of listings I’ve uploaded to eBay, the pop-up for Item Condition only gives me the option of “—” or “New.” There’s no option to specify “Used,” so I have to list it as new and then specify in the item description that it’s actually preowned. How do I fix that? Thanks!

You might want to re-download the refreshed category definitions. Sometimes they get out of whack when eBay updates.

Otherwise, it could be that eBay has updated the rules for the category in question. Which one is it?

It’s been an issue for my current auction and for the one before that. One was a razor and the current one is for a red laser light hair growth device, so both of them are in the general health and beauty category. I hadn’t run garage sale in a while, and I think that the first time I ran it to get the current auction going, it downloaded category updates, but I will try the menu item that you suggested to see if forcing a category update fixes the issue the next time around.

If this won’t help, try renewing your eBay access token in the GarageSale preferences > Accounts first.
If done, select one of the listings in question and open the category browser. In that browser click on the sprocket icon to update the category data.

Most personal use products (beauty and general use included) only allow “new” products to be sold; therefore that’s the reason NEW is your only option.

like you shouldn’t be selling used razors?

That all makes sense! But to reassure you, this was a fancy, solid aluminum safety razor that sold with a bunch of unopened blades and was thoroughly sanitized before I sold it. Great feedback from the buyer, too. :upside_down_face:
