Photo Oddity: Tahoe 26, iOS 26 and 9.9.3b4

So I’m not sure where the error lies here – with the 26 OSs or GarageSale – so this will be a bit rambling.

So I take my listing photos on my iPhone and just save them out to a folder I have on my iCloud Drive that I access on my Mac. From there I just drag-and-drop from that folder to my listings as needed.

I bypass the Photos app for the desktop and don’t import through the image viewer in GS. Generally I just leave them in HEIC format, with only some occasional cropping.

So today was the first time under 26 on MacOS and iOS. When dragging-and-dropping from my folder into a listing, everything looks fine within GS, both in the editor and live view.

When viewed live on ebay, the photo is washed out in gray. Saving the HEIC as another format, produces the same effect.

Now if I take the same photo from my iCloud folder into the desktop Photos app (with no edits/changes) first, then drag-and-drop into GS (still looks normal) and push the revision live, it no longer appears washed out on ebay.

Hi,

for me this looks like the original image includes HDR information which are lost in the HEIC import but not when importing it through the Photos app? We will have a look into this as soon as possible.

Can you please post the original HEIC image, possibly as a .zip file (as this forum’s software might try to interfere with plain image files).
