Smart Group Reveal Original command does not select original listing

Using GarageSale Version 7.0.14b2 (830), macOS Version 10.12.6 (16G1212)

From the GarageSale Help:

To easily jump to the original of an item displayed in a smart group, right-click on it and select “Reveal Original”.
When selecting this command from the Contextual Menu, it DOES “open” the Original item’s parent group folder, but it DOES NOT “select” the Original Item.

It should also scroll the list so the Original item, which is now selected, is visible in the list.

Could you please download the version below, rerun the Reveal command on on these listings and send the Console output produced by GarageSale:

Thanks.

Nothing at all related to Smart Groups in the Console Output: :frowning:

OOPS! Here is some more Console Output. Full text in .txt file. I selected the “Reveal Original” command 3 or 4 times on different listings within different Smart Groups.

Sorry, my mistake. I forgot that you need to enable logging in the Terminal first:

  1. Quit GS

  2. Open the Terminal, paste that line and press enter

    defaults write com.iwascoding.garagesale7 logLevel 1

  3. Restart GarageSale and invoke the reveal command again.

The logging I’m looking for should look similar to this:

2018-03-04 20:26:58.133 GarageSale[14237:5538580] selectNonSmartGroupItems: group title is
2018-03-04 20:26:58.133 GarageSale[14237:5538580] expandGroupRecursively: called for group 2014-08
2018-03-04 20:26:58.133 GarageSale[14237:5538580] expandGroupRecursively: groupRow is 10565, returning

?How did you get the 3 line text block above with the horizontal scrollbar???

OK, here ya go:

That’s the exact issue I have.

Thanks for the log. Can you please try again with this version:

4 spaces in front of each line, or wrapped in `-characters will do the trick.

This version worked for me!:grinning: Thank you so much for your quick solution.
