I’m a bit of an irregular eBay seller and after a break, I decided to make some space by selling some stuff on eBay.
It was bewildering to discover that eBay UK has implemented a new scheme called Simple Delivery whereby they seem to have taken control of shipping for private sellers. This has already been discussed but the topic was closed three weeks ago after there had been no replies but there was no conclusion about how or if this would be implemented in GarageSale.
I just updated to the latest version of GarageSale and in the version history, I saw no mention of Simple Delivery so, as somebody on the other thread observed, without it being implemented, this will render GarageSale unusable in the UK.
Does anybody have any kind of update as far as there being Simple Delivery implementation in GarageSale?

No worries but the topic is closed and GarageSale no longer works with items which require shipping on eBay UK so it seems like it needed to be discussed.
Also, there is every reason to expect this to be rolled out to other regions if the protestations of eBay UK sellers is unsuccessful.
Could you please you send a screenshot of the error message you are getting when you are trying to list an item requiring “Simple Delivery”?
I’m trying to get an official word from eBay on the situation. Their last response that it would work via the API, kindly omitting the “only if you are an business seller” part.
I haven’t tried to list anything just yet as I am so confused about the whole Simple Delivery thing (as are many other people on the eBay Community Forums). However, I did try verifying a listing I intend to upload at some point and it only came up with an alert saying, ‘Final Value Fee waived’.
The fact that there is no error message is a problem in itself looking at it from my confused state. I can select any of my erstwhile shipping profile (e.g. free for Buy it Now listings and various shipping fees for Auction listings) and there is no error - BUT all listings with these shipping profiles would now be subject to eBay’s Simple Delivery in which THEY (eBay) handle all the shipping fees, label creation etc. (with only the option of Royal Mail and the much distrusted Evri but these are only options insofar as one of them can be disabled in one’s eBay account) - so how can the two systems coexist?
There may be an eBay catastrophe lurking in the near future and I’m keeping my distance until there is some clarity.
You can probably just ignore this message if it’s not an error (red icon).
Regarding Simply Delivery: Is there any chance you can test it with one single listing and then check how/if eBay turned your shipping settings into their Simply Delivery method? This could give you some clarity.
I uploaded a listing and there was no mention of Simple Delivery throughout the process. When I view the listing on eBay, this is what I see when I click the shipping information - again no mention of Simple Delivery.
Personally, I wish that eBay UK had not introduced Simple Delivery but they have and it is supposed to be mandatory for private sellers like me so it makes me nervous about what on earth I am supposed to do if my shipping methods are overridden.
maybe it make more sense to contact eBay about this. Seems your account is not merged to Simple Delivery and you can use GarageSale for now. How and when you will be merged can only be answered by eBay.
Also eBay’s Developer Support did not help us, maybe because they are located in the US and have no complete insight of the things going on at eBay UK. Please let us know if and what eBay has to say as we really would like to know more about this.
