V8 import error

Hi I purchased and used V 5 & 6 GarageSale very happily for quite a while. The V7 upgrade came out and everything broke for me. I tried to go back to V6 and still I would get an error listing and it all never worked again. I just gave up. I am back now trying again. I installed V8.3.6 and lost my past database even though I selected import. Inside a HD backup what would the file be called that I need to use to get my past listings and designs back please?

What am I missing here it seems a retrograde step.

I assume that your GS6 database probably was too old and so GS8 not able to import it.

What you could try is to open GarageSale 6, export your most important listings and then (try to) import them in GarageSale 8.

unfortunately the process also wiped the V 6 database hence me asking for the name of the file that holds the database so I can search for it on a backup drive?

I don’t think that the database import process of GarageSale 8 is able to delete your GS6 database…

However, it’s a long time ago but if I remember correctly the GarageSale 6 database is located in your User Library here:
Macintosh HD/Users/yourUserName/Library/Application Support/GarageSale/*

  • Please note: The user Library is hidden by default. Click the Finder’s Go menu and press the option key (alt) to make the user Library show up in the
menu. Selecting it will open it in the Finder.
