Excluded Locations is Dead

eBay’s “Global Shipping Program” does not cover televisions.

I need to exclude all countries except for the US, but the choices are blank. It says “255 shipping destination excluded” beneath the blank field, but I believed that and put the item up believing that it was the case.

And then a guy in Papua New Guinea won the bid.

I’ve cancelled the sale and want to put it back up, but I don’t know how if there is no list I can tick countries off of. Exclusions

I’ve checked, and all of my listings end up giving me this option. There is no shipping profile involved.

What am I doing wrong? Help!

Easy fix (I think.). Under the Global tab, just uncheck the Global Shipping Program.

We do not use Global Shipping Program and dictate in our listings that we do not ship overseas since we deal mostly in coin, currency and bullion. That has eliminated 99.9% of our problems with foreign buyers.

However, it is weird that your Excluded Locations tab is completely blank. Just checked one of our listings, and it still shows the list of countries than can be excluded.

It’s not checked. I guess I should have mentioned that.

Thank you, flypogger.

But I don’t understand.

  1. click shipping in sidebar
  2. click INTERNATIONAL at top
  3. click AUSTRALIA, NORTH AND SOUTH… etc. and check the boxes where you want to ship - in your case probably NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA
  4. then click EXCLUDED LOCATIONS
  5. click triangle next to NORTH AMERICA, then check the boxes for countries YOU DON’T SHIP TO, like maybe you may want to ship to Canada
  6. also click the check box next to SOUTH AMERICA to exclude all of south america

She shouldn’t have to do that. But perhaps it is a workaround for her. We have no destinations selected in the International Tab and yet we are able to select countries in the Excluded Locations tab.

You might also want to go into MY EBAY under ACCOUNT then click SITE PREFERENCES on the left then click SHIPPING PREFERENCES and make sure that GLOBAL SHIPPING is off. I know a few people that had it switched on by EBAY without their knowledge.

Agreed, just trying to get something to work…

Well, that’s my problem. There ARE no countries listed nor boxes to check. If you look at the image in my first post, you can see exactly what it looks like.

And even though it SAYS “225 shipping destination excluded,” that isn’t true either. The main interface lists only DOMESTIC. And, as I said, the guy from Papua New Guinea was able to become the owner of the television.

Click INTERNATIONAL - you are in EXCLUDED - there are 4 panes here - and make sure EBAY didn’t opt you into global on MY EBAY

I am in EXCLUDED because that’s where I need to be in order to EXCLUDE countries.

Coincidentally, it’s the issue I am writing about, which is why the title is about EXCLUDED LOCATIONS.

I am trying to to find a way to use that one-out-of-four pane.

That list should never be empty. It seems the file GarageSale reads this list from is damaged.

Please go to “Help” menu > “Open Library Folder”. There should be a Sites.data file. Please delete it and restart GarageSale.

Mine was blank so I deleted as you recommend. It is still blank.

Ok, it seems to be some kind of refresh bug. Once you briefly use the search field, you should see the data.

We are right now looking into why this is broken in the first place…

The issue should be fixed in this release:

Ahhhh. There they are!

Sorry for my absence. Wicked strong flu.

Just to catch you up, rlmartin’s first post says what I would have said.

And rlmartin’s second post says what I would have said.

That fixed it Ilja. Thank you!
