The Mac I am working here is unchanged for a long time, no updates made at all. Never change a running system.
I am working here at the moment, just doing some upadtes for listings, new prices. I made that for about 10 listings without problems, when I did that for the 11th (exactly the same way as before), GS unexpectedly crashed. I tried to restart GS: Crashed. I restarted the whole Mac, tried again with no success. Then I started GS 9.9.1 with the ctrl-key, tried to repair the database. No success. Then I tried the ctrl-thing again with the first six items checked. Still crashes. I have a crash report that I could send.
I have a time-machine-backup (hourly) that I may use - but I do not really know how: Should I go to the ~/Library/Containers/com.iwascoding.garagesale9 folder and replace the complete folder with the last working time machine backup? Or just a specific folder within?
And I sadly seem to have only a TimeMachine backup from yesterday, I thought it does that hourly? Better than nothing. But newer may be better… And I have another manual backup from yesterday, too, not just the TimeMachine one.
So any chance to just find the problem for the crash and repairing that would be preferred compared to going back one day…
Just an update what else I tried now: I copied a backup copy of GS 9.9.1, same crash. I then did the ctrl-start again, with the last three entries checked. Still no success.
Can you please check if the beta version of the upcoming GarageSale 9.9.2 works better for you?:
Thanks for the quick reply. Tried it, but no, still crashes. I mailed you a crash-report.
Thanks, but no, still crashes.
I attach the crash report:

the crash-report text does not appear in the forum (which is ok), but did it arrive? Or do you have an e-Mail address I can send that to?
Odd: Without doing anything special (I did not erase the GS Token yet) just starting the Mac up again for sending the report - GS is open and yet uncrashed…
Could it be that, immediately after startup (I mean within under a second, the crashes were immediately after trying to start it), GS connects to ebay and an immediate problems there could cause such a crash?
Maybe you can see something in the report I attached above…
So I leave it there for today, have to leave my office.
Just returned for a few minutes to my office, starteted the mac up, GS still working. I will let you know if it will get unstable again when I have a normal workday again. Thanks for the quick replies! I appreciate that!
The crash report indicated that GarageSale was crashing when it was executing JavaScript code, which it most likely downloaded from the eBay web page.
Maybe the crash went away after eBay changed their JavaScript.
Thanks for looking into this!
