This is happening again - Found a post from 2021. Solve was to wait for eBay to update . . . Not sure if this is still the solve.
Every time I click on my items (on the right pane), GS opens a new instance of Facebook in my browser. The address is also strange (https://www.facebook.com/tr/) and it shows only a black page.
You are not the only one. We got the same report from two other customers recently.
My guess is that there is some kind of ad or widget on eBay’s website that triggers Safari to open that Facebook side. Hopefully this is just a temporary issue.
Do you use Facebook at all or do you have anything Facebook-related installed on your Mac?
I don’t use facebook, shouldn’t be anything installed. I am sure my wife is logged in as a user, but there shouldn’t be anything set up that allows this.
The interesting part is that GS is sending the command over to safari and switching applications. Not just loading in the GS window.
Me too, last few days GS sends any template I’ve used lately to that blank facebook.com page and uses Safari. Hopefully iwascoding gets a fix soon, it’s annoying and anything nowadays makes me wonder what’s behind it.
Best to All,

Hi. This happened to me as well. It stopped doing it when I went into settings, then clicked on the ebay icon, then the advanced icon and checked “Don’t Switch to Live view after starting listing”. If you click the live view in the app it will try to open the Facebook page.
Yep, I haven’t paid total attention but I use Firefox on my Mac and sometimes when I click on a completed listing in GS to duplicate it, Safari opens to that blank FB page.
Not saying this to brag but it’s never happened for me. So if there’s things I can do to test layouts or settings to make it happen for me I’ll gladly do that. I wonder if a template being used might have a call to Facebook.
I am curious if you change your default browser to something else installed does this still happen?
I have at least six browsers installed and change the default one at least once again so some utility applications I created can run scripted actions within the browser.
I changed my default to Safari and there was no issue with using GS.
In the upcoming version 9.9.3 of GarageSale that blank Facebook page should no longer be opened when switching to “Live” mode.
You can already try it out in this beta version:
