Still Stuck Wtih Wrong Named Store

@ilja One thing I noticed when taking another look at this is that even though eBay has changed the store name, it has not changed the URL for it. The Books, Jewelry & Lotsa Collectibles storefront is still found at https://www.ebay.com/str/booksbooksandsomedvds which is the old name of the storefront.

Since eBay is still coding the URL with the old store name, instead of creating a new URL, perhaps that is somehow related to the store name not being updated in GS when obtaining the info from eBay.

eBay Dev support told me that the could duplicate the behaviour on their end, and passed it on as a bug to engineering. I’ll keep you posted.

Ebay got back with this:

Hello Ilja ,

We currently have an issue with changing the store name in the “Edit Store” page. To workaround this issue, please ask the seller to change her store name from the URL below

http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?StoreDisplaySettings

The change from this URL will be reflected in GetStores

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

It wouldn’t let me change the name last night, and I finally got fed up and went to bed. But I tried again today after realizing that at least part of eBay acknowledged the new name I wanted to switch to, so I tried a brand new name, and it took!

One small glitch, but I’m hoping that it takes care of itself: The link it gave me goes to somewhere they don’t acknowledge.

Is that the store link that GarageSale receives for you new renamed store?

In the GarageSale preferences > Accounts please click on “Update Account Details” once again.

Sorry for the delay. Cousin’s wife is dying and I’ve been sitting with them.

In answer to the question, when I click on the store name at the top of my (GS) listing it takes me to the URL it’s supposed to be, which is https://pages.ebay.com/collectiblesshoppe

But I don’t think it’s a GarageSale problem. It looks like an eBay problem, and it started happening after you had eBay fix the original problem.

I’m not sure what to do about it. Do I need to talk to eBay, or will you consider it part of the original problem and deal with them?

I installed the new version 7.0.16 about 20 minutes ago. No help. :frowning:

Ok. I don’t know if you need this piece of info, but I just found it, and I believe it will solve the problem.

The correct address to the second one is https://www.ebay.com/str/northofbangor

Could it just be that GS has just created a similar address with pages.ebay instead of ebay.com/str/ ?

Hi Michelle,

I tried the link in your listing but the link is still not working.
However, it seems you started that listing with 7.0.16b1. If you revise it with GarageSale 7.0.16b3 it might correct the link(s).

Before invoking the revise command with 7.0.16b3 please click on “Update Account Details” in the GarageSale preferences > Accounts.
