Unable to Relist

I just upgraded to 6.9.3 and now I am unable to relist auctions.

Every time I try to relist I get the following error code:

“A network error occurred while trying to connect to the eBay server. Please check your internet connection and try again.”

I would really appreciate a solution to this as I currently have about 50 auctions I need to relist for this weekend.

Hi Soda,

there’s an issue with some eBay errors but this workaround might work for you:

  1. Open Safari and go to https://api.ebay.com.
  2. Click on the lock icon in front of the address field
  3. Check the “always trust” checkbox. See this user post for a screenshot:
    Broken Account Details (Preferences etc)

Hi Kristian,

I really appreciate your super fast response.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t seem to have made a difference. I did click the ‘always trust’ box but I am still getting the network error in Garage Sale when I try to relist.

When you look at the Console utility’s window (under /Application/Utilities), is there anything logged from GarageSale at the time the relist fails with that error?

Also, have you restarted GarageSale after you check the ‘Always Trust’ box in Safari?

Hi ilja, It seems there are a few errors:

10/04/2015 19:55:23.254 GarageSale[358]: -[IHEbayConnector sendRequestString:verb:] ‘GetMyeBaySelling’ returned error: The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “api.ebay.com” which could put your confidential information at risk. (data length: 0)

10/04/2015 19:55:23.254 GarageSale[358]: Error in GetMyeBaySellingOperation (null): A network error occurred while trying to connect to the eBay server. Please check your internet connection and try again.

You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “api.ebay.com” which could put your confidential information at risk. (data length: 0)

So you are indeed running into the same issue as the user in this thread: Broken Account Details (Preferences etc)

Still puzzled why the always trust checkbox doesn’t work for you. Can you check by pointing Safari to https://api.ebay.com once again, if the system still remembers your earlier change?

I rechecked the https://api.ebay.com link and the box was unchecked again. Very strange.

I have now re-checked and restarted everything and I can now relist. How weird.

Thanks for the fast support ilja and Kristian, I really appreciate it.

I have the same problem, I can’t revise etc. my listings, and I downloaded the OS X update yesterday.

When I click on the icon in front of the suggested api.ebay.com, I don’t have or see an option to “trust”.

I did get a message about insecure something… …yesterday…but not that technical as some of you!!!

It’s driving me mad, has anyone got any solutions or suggestions?

I am getting a message that my connection is not private when i go into api.ebay.com

HELP!

I also get this message from ebay

and it also tells me that the Certificate was signed by an untrusted user on Google–similar result on Safari

The main thing is i don’t have an option/ check box to tick “always Trust”, and the earlier screenshot shows
Is there another way to make it trust the site? Tried uploading a screenshot but file is too large

Version 6.9.4 Beta 1 hopefully addresses this issue:

I have to thank Kristian as what he suggested worked for me, what I found was I had to end safari and restart it and then type https://api.ebay.com use trust always as directed. I then restarted Safari again and its fixed. I am using the 6.9.3 version of Garage Sale. This all started for me after Mediacom Cable went down by me in Northern IL. after the Tornado. Anyway, I thank you guys for the info…

I now have the option to “always trust” checkbox above certificate, by going to https://api.ebay.com (which I strangely didn’t have yesterday?) but after restart of latest 41b version, I still the same message ("a network error…etc.)

I am ebay UK

please see my thread for latest update…)))))

Trying to post my first Auction from a template and I have been given this - A network error occurred while trying to connect to the eBay server. Please check your internet connection and try again.

This is pretty disappointing for new software.

Hi plabstore,

this error is a known issue caused by Apple’s latest security update.
The issue is fixed in the latest version of GarageSale 6.9.5 which requires Mac OS X 10.9 or 10.10.
It seems you’re using an older version of GarageSale.

If you don’t update you should check the workaround describe in the blog posts:
http://www.iwascoding.com/

Thanks Kristian - I’ll look at this again now

hi, sorry bring back the old post
i cannot list new items with the same message
im using 6.9.7 and 10.11.5 el capitan , also can’t open the https://api.ebay.com (blank page)

is there anything i can do?

I guess you purchased GarageSale in the Mac App Store and later downloaded the GarageSale version from the GarageSale website?

Did you already check this blog post?:

Regards, Kristian

only from mac app store
yes i already did that
but when i follow step no.2 its a blank page

thank you Kristian for your help

You have to click on the lock icon in Safari’s address bar next to “api.eBay.com” and set it to “Always trust” as described in our blog. It might be needed to restart Safari as well.

However, it’s strange that you get that error with GarageSale 6.9.7. Maybe it’s a different issue.
Could you post a screenshot of the error and describe when exactly the error appears? (what exactly are you doing?)

Also, you might want to check if you can reproduce the error with the latest beta version of the upcoming GarageSale 7 available here:
